Our History
Edge Lumber Company, Inc. was founded in 1895 by William Hugh Edge. Later, the company was officially named W.L. Edge Lumber Company by Willie Lee Edge in Adger, Alabama. In 1965, Willie Lee Edge sold the company to his son, Hugh Lee Edge, who changed the name to W.L. Edge and Son Lumber Company. In 1979, the current president and owner, Keith Edward Edge, became the fourth generation to lead the company, renaming it Edge Lumber Company, Inc.
As Keith Edward Edge looks forward to retirement after 57 years, his daughter, Heather Edge Nelson, will continue the family legacy as the fifth generation to own and operate Edge Lumber Company, Inc. Heather E. Nelson will be the first female owner and operator of the company.
Edge Lumber Company, Inc. provides full-cut industrial lumber based on the old lumber standards, where a 2 x 4 is a true 2 x 4. Our machines cut Precision End Trim (PET) along with custom cuts to your specifications.
